POWER/RANGERS was the 2015 unofficial short film directed by Joseph Kahn set in a mature and gritty alternate reimagining of the well known Saban IP. Featuring Katee Sackhoff and James Van Der Beek, the short film quickly went viral on youtube with over 6 million views in the first two days and over 25 million views as of 2021.

My team at The Build Shop was brought in as specialist fabricators by art director JC Molina to create the futuristic knives and swords featured in this short film. Each weapon was built in two forms as a hero prop for close up shots and as a more rugged stunt-ready version for use in combat sequences. A removable blade was fabricated as a stand-in for the retractable blade featured in the film so the sword could be shot either as hilt alone or with the blade in for stunts.
