LUCASARTS

The Force Unleashed II

Role: Systems Design Intern

I worked at LucasArts as a Systems Design Intern on “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2” during pre-production. While here I reported directly to the Systems Design Lead on the project and worked with senior designers on prototype puzzle designs in their proprietary engine Ronin to test mechanics for the published game. While there I experimented extensively with the Digital Molecular Matter system in their engine which allows any 3D mesh to take on physical properties of materials like wood, metal, or rubber and shatter dynamically and realistically based upon the power and direction of forces applied to it. I created a number of novel puzzles centered around manipulating these physical properties in the DMM system in interesting ways with your force powers.
